Ready for binding? Heres a tip from Grasshopper Yagi. Before you start routing cuts, spray a coat of lacqure on the ukulele top, back, and sides. A coat of shellac or varnish will also due nicely. The protective coating will help the router bit cut crisper lines and lessen the tearout and fuzzing. Its a stress type situation when routing so every little bit helps. Ok, done with your routed channels and ready to glue-in those bindings? Try disdouble up strips of masking tape and youll find that the added layer will give more strenght to the tape and enable you to pull tighter when adhering the bindings. Tape is cheap, works great too!
